4.埃及象形文字的破译(Egyptian hieroglyph)。我早上机经也看到了。真考试时才反应过来他讲的是什么。因为历史课有学过···所以松了一口气······
Rosetta Stone是19世纪(?)十大考古发现之一，它的重要性在于上面用Greece，Egyptian Script(?)，和Egyptian hieroglyph三种文字记载了古埃及的几件大事(好像是一个法老打了胜仗)。在此石面世之前，Egyptian hieroglyph失传已久，无人识得 。现根据Greece专家破解了Egyptian hieroglyph(因为这三种语言表达意思相同)。在破解过程中，Tomson Young 和Chillon(?)起到关键作用。在他们之前，学术界普遍认为Egyptian hieroglyph 是pictures 而非sound，Tomson Young 和Chillon提出Egyptian hieroglyph是sound而非picture(有题)。后面还有detail，讲他俩如何破译······(好像Tomson Young 用names of King and Queen，但有错误，Chillonin是最终正确的)
