  逻辑辨证记忆提示:由sens,sent,scen演化而来的英文单词围绕着“to perceive with the sense, feel, hear, see, smell(感官上的洞察)”造词。这组词有两个难点:1)英文把视觉、嗅觉、听觉等感官混同表示,如scene(指视觉的洞察), scent(嗅觉的洞察), sentry(-ry可作总称的名词后缀,“哨兵”需要保持听觉、视觉等所有感官的洞察);2)英文把坏的感觉和好的感觉不分,因为感知既有好也有坏,如 scent(n.香味,香水 ←好的嗅觉感知),scene(n.发脾气,吵闹 ←坏的情感),sentiment(n.感伤,伤感情绪 ←坏的情感), sensational(所有意思都指好的感知)。

重点词经典真题例句:Culture in this sense includes what the anthropologist ,Edward Tylor, summarized as ’knowledge, belief, art, morals, custom…’(剑4,T4,R2)从这个意义上来说,文化包括人类学家爱德华·泰勒总结的”人作为社会成员获得的知识、信仰、艺术、道德、习俗…”

…their eyes reduced to slits that probably allow them to sense only the direction and intensity of light.(剑4,T1,R2)…它们的眼睛变成了一条缝,这也许只能让它们感觉光的方向和强度.

The programme has sensational theatre, dance and also a large number of art exhibitions, but the thing the Festival is most famous for is its great street music.(剑4,T3,L2)这个节目有让人振奋的戏剧、舞蹈,还有大量的艺术展览,但是这个节目最著名的是它的街头音乐.

The German cinema, relatively insignificant in the pre-war years, exploded on to the world scene after 1919.(剑4,GT-TA,R3)战前相对而言稍微逊色一点的德国电影业在1919年迅速地发展,登上了世界的舞台.

The scenery was as fine as any we saw on the trip and that was how it was every time.(剑2,T1,L2)这里的景色和我们一路上看到的一样美丽,并且这里一直都是这样.

AS a consequence, during the 1980s a kind of doomsday scenario was projected by health administrators, economists and politicians.(剑4,T4,R3)因此,在20世纪80年代,卫生官员、经济学家和政治家提出了一种世界末日的方案.

The scent she carried in her samples and on her body was a message to the other bees that this particular food was the one they were looking for.(剑4,GT-TB,R3)对其他蜜蜂来说,她携带的食物样品及身上的气味就是一种信息:这种东西正是他们正在寻找的特别食物.

The non-financial incentive scheme did appear to assist in controlling absenteeism in the short term.(剑2,T3,R1)非金钱激励方案短期内确实有助于控制旷工.

The overwhelming consensus was that virtually all the teather-subjects would refuse to obey the experimenter.(剑5,T1,R2)压倒性的共识是所有的扮演老师的测试对象将拒绝服从实验者.

But most modern humour theorists have settled on some version of Aristotle’s belief that jokes are based on a reaction to or resolution of incongruity, when the punchline is either a nonsense or,though appearing silly, has a clever second meaning.(剑5,T2,R2)但是大多数现代幽默理论家承袭了亚里士多德的观点,认为笑话是当妙语是一句胡闹的话,或者看起来很愚笨却另有一层聪明意思的时候,人们对不协调氛围的一种反应或解决.

A comedian will present a situation followed by an unexpected interpretation that is also apt.(剑5,T2,R2)戏剧演员会先给出一种情形,随后给出一个意想不到却很贴切的解释.
